IGA Plans Nov. 1 Opening In Bamberg, SC; No Plans To Reopen Bowman Grocery

Bamberg will once again have a grocery store.

Steve Fennell is opening an Independent Grocers Alliance – IGA — store at the former Bi-Lo building at 3386 Railroad Ave. Bi-Lo closed the store earlier this year as part of a company-wide bankruptcy.

"It does not have a grocery store and people need it," Fennell said. "We just thought it was a great location."

Fennell said he has been looking at Bamberg ever since the Bi-Lo announced it was closing.
