On Monday, the Food Lion store on Piney Green is set to begin “to-go” shopping and one of the locations on Gum Branch Road will begin offering it Sept. 7.

Like baseball and apple pie, the concept of a drive through is all-American — and it’s making it way to area grocery stores.

Unlike a drive through the ordering is done online, but some Jacksonville residents are all for it, like Ernest Stewart.

Stewart said he has not tried “to-go” grocery shopping yet, but would be open to it. But, he added, you’d have to be trusting of your grocer to participate.
