East Tennessee Dairies Struggle As Milk Industry Changes

GREENE COUNTY, TN – In the last 40 years, milk consumption has dropped dramatically, that's according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
It's a situation that has many dairy farmers in the East Tennessee area struggling to stay in business.
Richard Swacker of Greene County said he has felt the hardship dairy farmers face for years. He has owned and operated his family's dairy farm for more than 40 years.
Swacker said his milk buyer has him faced with a tough decision to make that could cause him to go out of business.
