Davis, Calif. — The following can be attributed to Trevor Suslow, Ph.D., director, Postharvest Technology Center, University of California, Davis:

“As we continue to pursue our roadmap for change in 2017, I am excited to introduce the new logo for the Postharvest Technology Center. Our new icon and tagline above—aimed to declutter and refocus the Center’s image—was borne of long hours driving around California over the past few months.

The Center also has a new, free "Produce Facts" App for Android to join iPhone, which launched earlier this year, for growers and producers to help prevent postharvest loss, and improve the quality, safety and overall marketability of fresh produce.

The App includes information for 132 fruits, vegetables and ornamentals, including optimum storage recommendations, maturity and quality guidelines as well as physiological and physical disorder identification tools.

App users can access content in English, French and Spanish. Free downloads are available with Google Play, "UC Produce Facts;" and iTunes, "Produce Facts." Internet connection is not needed to access the Produce Facts App.”
