Bimbo Bakeries Announces Hastings Closure

Bimbo Bakeries USA announced Friday it will cease production at its Hastings bakery in early September.
The company will shift production to its Bellevue; South Sioux City; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Topeka, Kansas, bakeries, according to a news release.
The bakery, which has been at 317 S. Elm Ave. since the 1950s, produces bread and buns and employs 117 associates. Consumers won’t see a change in the availability of products from the other bakeries, the release states.
