LOS ANGELES — La Brea Bakery, the nation's top Artisan bread brand, has pledged to provide one million meals this holiday season through its #AlwaysEnough campaign. During the months of October through December, a portion of all La Brea Bakery sales will be donated to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry initiative, which works to end childhood hunger and make sure kids get the healthy food they need.
“We are passionate about creating good food, and believe that no child should worry about whether they will have food on the table, or access to the healthy foods they need,” said Kristina Dermody, Brand President of ARYZTA, the parent company of La Brea Bakery. “As a leading food brand and long-standing community partner for over 25 years, it is our responsibility to make sure children have access to healthy meals. We are proud to support No Kid Hungry this holiday season by committing to donate one million meals to the one in five children in this country who don’t have enough to eat.”
More than 16 million American kids live in households struggling to put food on the table. In addition to impacting a child’s overall health, childhood hunger can also negatively impact academic performance and achievement, preventing many American kids from reaching their full potential. Through the #AlwaysEnough campaign, La Brea Bakery is helping No Kid Hungry end child hunger in America by ensuring that all children get the healthy food they need, every day.
“The La Brea Bakery #AlwaysEnough campaign will make a real impact on childhood hunger through their commitment to feed one million kids this holiday season,” said Founder and CEO of Share Our Strength Billy Shore. “We are thankful for La Brea Bakery’s support in helping us eradicate child hunger across the country and ensuring that children have access to the healthy and nutritious foods they need.”
Consumers will be able to support this cause through the purchase of La Brea Bakery breads and foods at grocery stores across the country. La Brea Bakery is officially kicking off the campaign at the Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) presented by FOOD & WINE, taking place October 15 – 18. 2015. NYCWFF is a charity event, with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefitting Food Bank For New York City and the No Kid Hungry campaign.
