DENVER, CO – King Soopers and Monterey Mushrooms teamed up to create educational content on the health benefits of mushrooms and vitamin D for the King Soopers Health Matters kiosk that is present in all King Soopers stores.
“At King Soopers we know it starts with food. That is why we are excited to have our registered dietitians partnered with Monterey Mushrooms to provide great recipes and tips for our in store Health Matters kiosks. We know the importance of continual wellness education for our customers and how small changes make a big difference.”–Kelli McGannon, Director of Public Affairs
The kiosk is loaded with educational facts, for example “Mushrooms are the only plant source of vitamin D. Vitamin D Content can be enhanced to up to 100% of the Daily Value per a 3 ounce serving simply by additional expose to UV light!” The kiosk also features recipes, like the Mushroom Blended Meatballs and Blended Classic Beef Burgers.
King Soopers didn’t forget about the “Sooper Kid!” They created a fun activity newsletter with connect-the-dots and a word search to educate kids on why mushrooms are our fungus friends.
“Its been so exciting to work with King Soopers. I see Monterey Mushrooms Vitamin D line as a vehicle to drive sales. Living here in Colorado and knowing just how cognizant Coloradoans are in terms of nutrition, I know that this is going to be a home run!” – Sandy Malouff-Quintana, Sales Manager, Monterey Mushrooms.
