The Compass Group USA said Monday it’s expanding its cage-free egg policy to include liquid eggs.
With its North American headquarters in Charlotte since 1995, the leading food-service company implemented its cage-free policy in 2007, initially impacting the purchase of 48 million eggs a year.
The company purchases 30 million pounds of liquid eggs a year, and the new policy will move over 1 million hens into cage-free settings every year.
