Consumer-ready products made with parts of seafood typically deemed fish waste, or a by-product of primary processing will compete in the 22nd annual Alaska Symphony of Seafood, coming in February to Anchorage, Juneau and Seattle.

The event, hosted by the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation, with a number of seafood industry and other sponsors, sends winners in each category to the International Boston Seafood Show to promote their products.

Along with competition in retail, food service and smoked product, the 2015 competition will add "Beyond the Plate," open to by-products of many varieties.
