Amid the grocery wars being waged in the Sacramento region and beyond, Raley's is heightening its focus on natural and organic items.

"We intend to move toward (offering) an increasing number of products that are made with natural and organic ingredients — products that are purely made," Raley's spokeswoman Nicole Townsend said.

Earlier this week, beverage industry trade publication BevNET reported the West Sacramento-based grocer implemented a "Whole Foods-esque" set of guidelines for certain ingredients in the products it sells.
