WASHINGTON, DC — For the first time the National Fisheries Institute’s (NFI) quarterly newsletter, Hooked, will feature a video component. Hooked is a seasonal publication that keeps the foodservice community up to date on the latest in seafood trends. Readers can easily find the accompanying Hooked video by scanning the QR code on the bottom of the page.

Hooked, available for distribution through NFI’s members, provides the latest on new seafood menu ideas and offerings to chefs across the U.S. and abroad.

“Adding a video to accompany Hooked was a natural progression for the newsletter,” said Lynsee Fowler, NFI’s Communications Manager. “It allows us to dig deeper into any one food service trend and helps chefs to see the food come alive.”

The Spring 2014 issue of Hooked features brunch, a daypart with extremely broad customer appeal. The issue highlights one famous Washington D.C. restaurant that critics agree, does an excellent job of including fish and seafood on its brunch menu.

“Le Diplomate has such a complete offering we wanted another platform where we would be better able to show and tell that story,” said Fowler. “Chefs can read the newsletter, then take a video tour of Le Diplomate’s dining room and kitchen, as well as meet the people behind its success. If only smell-o-vision had been invented before we went to press this edition of Hooked would be the total package.”

The summer edition of Hooked is set to feature an annual recipe contest with the winner chosen from aspiring culinary students.
