National Watermelon Promotion Board Executive Director Joins Commodity Roundtable Meeting

Washington, D.C. – National Watermelon Promotion Board Executive Director Mark Arney (L) is pictured with USDA-AMS Administrator Anne Alonzo during a meeting at the USDA in Washington D.C. Arney was there with CEO's of other similar programs (Commodity Roundtable) that operate under USDA oversight. In addition to Alonzo, Deputy Secretary Harden made a presentation to the group. Harden, is the second highest ranking USDA official.
This is the first time the Commodity Roundtable has met as a group at the USDA. Arney is a past chairman of the group that includes board representatives of mangos, soybeans, dairy, peanuts, sorghums, potatoes, pork, mushrooms, cranberries, popcorn, avocados, cotton, eggs, poultry and beef. William Watson of the National Mango Board and Fresh Approach manages the group.
