USDA Terminates Washington State Potato Marketing Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is terminating the marketing order regulating the handling of potatoes grown in Washington state. The marketing order was established in 1949 but its handling regulations have been suspended since 2014 and are currently not active.

USDA Announces Appointments to the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the appointment of 35 members to serve on the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board. All appointed members will serve three-year terms beginning February 2022 and ending February 2025.

USDA Seeks Nominees for National Mango Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking nominations for the National Mango Board to fill seats for seven members whose terms expire Dec. 31, 2022. Nomination applications for the seats are due Feb. 25, 2022. Appointed members will serve three-year terms.

USDA Issues Final Rule on the Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Order

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) published a final rule that amends the Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Order included in the Commodity Promotion, Research, and Information Act of 1996. The Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Order governs the American Lamb Board.
