As the crowning touch to National Blueberry Month, the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) today announced the winners of the America’s Best Blueberry Pie Contest. USHBC received an impressive 234 blueberry pie recipes in 29 days from blueberry fans across the nation. Tieghan Gerard, the New York Times best-selling author of two cookbooks and the Half Baked Harvest blog, served as the final judge, selecting the three winners.

Michigan Blueberry Grower Shelly Hartmann Named Chair of USHBC

Michigan blueberry grower Shelly Hartmann has been named chair of the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC). Hartmann, who co-owns True Blue Farms with her husband Dennis, succeeds Chris Barnhill of North Carolina.
