U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council Awarded $1.5 Million  to Further Develop Export Market Opportunities

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) has been awarded $1.5 million from the second round of the U.S. Department of Food and Agriculture’s (USDA) Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP).

USDA Announces Appointments to the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council

The council is composed of 21 members, including 12 growers (four regional representatives and eight representatives from the top eight highbush blueberry-producing states); four importers; four exporters; and one public member. In addition to each council member, an alternate member is also appointed. Council members and their alternates are appointed to three-year terms and can be reappointed for one additional three-year term.

USHBC Launches New Retail Shopper Activations to Boost Blueberry Sales 

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) has launched an innovative shopper marketing and consumer campaign to drive incremental sales increases and volume of fresh and frozen blueberries at retail. The latest consumer activation will launch this month, just in time for summer, with holiday themes like Mother’s Day and Memorial Day barbecues – all targeted at increasing the consumption of blueberries by occasional blueberry users and winning new consumers.

Innovative Program Creates Opportunities for Professionals Across the Blueberry Supply Chain to Build Skills and Boost Careers

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) has launched the application process for the third class of its Blueberry Leadership Program that elevates up-and-coming leaders in the blueberry industry. The program will accept up to 10 talented, passionate professionals from across the supply chain to become the third group of fellows in the program.
