IDFA Opens Nominations for Annual Industry Awards to Honor Dairy Industry’s Top Leaders

The award will be given to an outstanding IDFA member company that has implemented policies to promote a positive workplace experience for employees. Award recipients will be recognized for their efforts to support women and minorities, create cultures of inclusiveness and respect, support professional development, established paid parental leave and flexible work hours, and gender pay equality, among other criteria.

Back to School: Less than 1% of School Milk is Lactose-Free but Parents Want More Lactose-Free Options for Kids

An analysis of milk sales across all major sales channels shows that U.S. schools are falling short in making lactose-free milk options available to students. Obstacles like mandatory doctor’s notes, a lack of reimbursements for lactose-free purchases from the federal government, and inadequate nutrition recommendations that shortchange child nutrition are at issue.

IDFA Elevates Member Impact, Promotes Herrick

Matt Herrick will coordinate efforts across the association to drive policy, advocacy, communications, and social impact strategies in coordination with IDFA’s Executive Team members and subject matter experts. Herrick previously served as Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications. He will continue to oversee public affairs, communications, and manage the IDFA Foundation, in addition to these new responsibilities. He will continue to report to IDFA President and CEO Michael Dykes, D.V.M.

IDFA Urges DGAC to Enhance Dairy’s Role in Healthy Diets and Improve Access to Dairy for All Americans

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) submitted comments to the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) urging the panel to maintain and enhance dairy’s role as a core component of a recommended healthy diet for Americans. IDFA also urged the DGAC to restore dairy to its draft conclusions on dietary patterns associated with favorable outcomes for body weight and obesity in adults.
