 The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) honored six Champions of Global Cuisine at the 2022 CIA Leadership Awards. Maneet Chauhan ’00, Dr. Jessica B. Harris, Enrique Olvera ’99, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino ’97, Roy Yamaguchi ’76, and Jungsik Yim ’05 received the Augie™ for their dedication to cultivating an understanding, adoption, and love of world cuisines among countless individuals.

Wheat Foods Council Meets in Napa for the Future of Food Forum

Chefs, food marketers, millers and other wheat industry representatives came together in Napa, California, on April 11 to 14 for the Wheat Foods Council’s Chef Workshop and first Future of Food Forum. This seminar was insightful and provided a chance to advocate wheat foods to key people in the food industry.

JFOODO Announces Two Baking Recipes Using Japanese Rice Flour Developed by the Culinary Institute of America

The Japan Food Product Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO) has released two gluten free recipes using Japanese rice flour, Cheesy Rice Bread and Apple Fritters. These recipes were developed by the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). JFOODO will be reaching out to bakeries to promote these signature recipes with the goal of popularizing the Japanese rice flour in the US.

Culinary Kickoff announced it will host the eighth annual Culinary Kickoff™ on February 10, 2022, bringing a star-studded roster of celebrity chefs together for a special evening of interactive food tastings, track Demonstration Laps, and experiences. Hosted in-person at the Porsche Experience Center in Carson, CA, the event will feature celebrated Chefs Charlie Palmer, Michael Mina and Restaurant 917’s Chef Matt Lee. Event proceeds will support the Culinary Kickoff™ Scholarship Fund at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
