Governor Newsom Recognizes Contribution of Dairy Farm Families to California Communities and Economy With Proclamation Of June as “Real California Milk Month”

In celebration of June Dairy Month and the contribution of the state’s more than 1,200 family dairy farms to the communities and economy of California, Governor Gavin Newsom has proclaimed June as “Real California Milk Month.” This regional distinction is in addition to the annual National Dairy Month celebration that recognizes the range of dairy products and the farmers who produce the milk that helps feed the nation and, increasingly, the world.

June is Dairy Month and marks the kickoff of summer celebration season. The two go hand-in-hand as families honor everyone from dads and grads to newlyweds with real food and family fun. Real California Milk is bringing the party home with ideas from top celebrity chef Melissa King and tips for pairing cheese, wine and flowers to make every event a California-style occasion.

PLANT Foundation Partners With California Milk Advisory Board to Provide Updated Dairy Education Program to Students

The PLANT Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children science through agricultural examples, is partnering with the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) to redevelop the program that teaches school-age children about dairy production and dairy foods.
