New Charter Service to Transport Fresh Blueberries from Chile to the United States Market During the Upcoming 2022-23 Season

Chilean fresh blueberry exporters have reached an agreement to implement a charter service to the U.S. market called the “Blueberry Express”.  This special service will begin in Week 49 and continue throughout the 2022-23 season, with less than 2 weeks transit time to the U.S. market.

Global Exporter of Blueberries Completes Successful Pilot Using Save Foods’ Proprietary Eco Crop Protection Solution

Save Foods announced successful pilot results for a global exporter of blueberries based in South Africa. The exporter trialed Save Foods’ eco crop protection solution during the 2021-2022 growing season, successfully demonstrating the complete mitigation of mold after seven weeks (at 0 degrees Celsius) and the extension of the blueberries’ shelf life by an additional week (at 6-8 degrees Celsius).

New Jersey Department of Agriculture Highlights Jersey Fresh Blueberries

New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher highlighted the beginning of blueberry season in the Garden State with a visit to Macrie Brothers Blueberry Farm. Secretary Fisher and state and local officials viewed the packing of Jersey Fresh blueberries to emphasize that locally grown produce and farm products are readily available now at farmers markets and stores around the state.

First Cohort of Fellows Accepted Into USHBC’s Blueberry Industry Leadership Program Announced

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC) today announced the first cohort of fellows accepted into its Blueberry Industry Leadership Program. The program, launched in March, is designed to elevate up-and-coming leaders in the blueberry industry by providing in-depth training, industry education and connection to other ag leaders for passionate blueberry professionals across the supply chain.

Maine Set to Celebrate the Iconic Wild Blueberry at Annual Weekend Festival

After a successful first Wild Blueberry Weekend in 2021, the annual event that puts Maine’s iconic fruit in the spotlight is back for year two and will be taking place August 6-7, 2022. Mainers and visitors will have the opportunity to eat, drink, and experience everything Maine wild blueberry throughout the weekend by visiting one (or many!) of the 14 participating wild blueberry growers’ farms located in the Midcoast and Downeast.
