Trident Seafoods Corp. To Move Operations From Bedford To New Plant In Georgia

Trident Seafoods Corporation in Bedford will be letting go 75 workers later this year when its plant shuts down, according to a Virginia Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice.

The Seattle-based company will move its onion rings and French toast production facility to Carrollton, Georgia, where a new and larger facility awaits. Trident Seafoods arrived in Bedford in summer 2012 with a one-year plan to work there until the Carrollton facility was completed.

Two managers and about a half-dozen Bedford workers are transferring to Carrollton, said Joe Kirkland, plant manager in Bedford.
