Stavis Seafoods Adds New President To Implement Aggressive Growth Strategy

BOSTON, MA. – Stavis Seafoods, a family owned, international importer and first receiver of fresh & frozen seafood, today announced that food industry veteran Charles “Chuck” Marble will serve as the company’s President. Marble previously served as CEO of Elevation Brands, which includes Ian’s Natural Foods and Blue Horizon Wild. His leadership, brand building, retail and food industry experience will help expand the company’s reach into new channels. In this role, Marble will help build the Stavis brands to meet the evolving needs of customers, develop product and channel opportunities, and integrate the recently opened Peabody facility into the operations of the company. He will also be responsible for executing on the company’s aggressive growth strategy, which includes breaking ground on a state-of-the-art facility in Boston’s Marine Industrial Park later this year. Marble replaces Jack Fleishman, who held the role on an interim basis since October of 2016.

Marble has more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, including senior management and executive positions at Elevation Brands, Weetabix Food Company and Triad Foods Group. At Elevation, he rejuvenated Ian’s Natural Foods by pioneering an allergy friendly/gluten-free line and he expanded the company’s product line by acquiring Blue Horizon Wild, a sustainable seafood brand of value added products and meals. At Weetabix, a cereal and organic snack business, he amalgamated three operating companies now known as Weetabix North America, while restructuring internally into a branded, private-label and co-manufacturing business, which resulted in substantial branded sales growth. Chuck also serves as Chair-Elect for the Cornell University Food Science Advisory Council, and Executive Board Member for the New England Celiac Organization.
