Rancho Dominguez, CA – Roger O’Brien, CEO of Santa Monica Seafood, announced that, as part of the Company’s continued restructuring of its Procurement department, Dave Harrison has been hired as Vice President of Procurement. Dave will lead and manage the Procurement department for the Company and his duties will include employee development and training; supplier management; strategic purchasing; supplier negotiations and contracting; development of supply management systems, procedures and analytics; and inventory management and control.
Dave Harrison obtained his BA from Albion College in Michigan and his MBA in Finance from Michigan State University. Dave has held VP of Global Strategic Sourcing positions for a number of multi-billion dollar corporations, and has an extraordinary track record of achieving cost reductions totaling in the $100’s of millions of dollars through various Procurement efficiencies, lean inventory/distribution and supply negotiations. Dave currently lives in Illinois but will be relocating to southern California. In his leisure time, David is an avid golfer, international traveler, hunter and fisherman, as well as a concert violinist.
Roger O’Brien added, “Dave is no stranger to Santa Monica Seafood. He has most recently been a consultant with Alexander Proudfoot, a global consulting firm focused on efficiency and productivity improvements. Alexander Proudfoot has been working with Santa Monica Seafood as part of our Good-to-Great improvement program. Dave Harrison has been a member of the Alexander Proudfoot team and has been the consultant overseeing our Procurement group for the past 5 months. As a result, Dave already has a decent feel for our Company, our people, our suppliers and our opportunities. Dave has been actively mentoring all of us go from Good-to-Great for most of this year; we want him to continue this effort for years to come.”
