Fish on a stick is proving a popular offering for a Sherbrooke outfit.
St. Mary’s River Smokehouses has already sold $150,000 worth of its new Salmon Stix in the last four weeks and is hoping to move more than $500,000 worth of the product before year’s end.
“I think it will be the most interesting product we’ve done in five or six years,” said Alan Archibald, who heads Lochiel Enterprises Ltd., the smokehouse’s Truro-based holding company.
“It’s just getting rolled out as we speak.”
The Salmon Stix, which come in flavours including sweet barbecue, chili mango and spiced maple, will be available in every Loblaw store east of Ontario and Sobeys in Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario.
