SCHENECTADY — Price Chopper said Thursday morning that it is joining with Sustainable Fisheries Partnership and Trace Register to help it further develop its programs to ensure that its seafood comes from "the most sustainably managed and maintained fisheries of the world."
The partnership will work with Price Chopper to evaluate seafood and determine the best sources for obtaining it. Trace Register will provide software that enables Price Chopper to track the seafood from its source to ensure quality, safety and sustainability, the supermarket company said.
The partnership and Trace Register enhance Price Chopper's existing sustainability program, which the supermarket company has had in place for a number of years, said company spokeswoman Mona Golub.
