Fisheries and Oceans Canada says lobster fishermen in LFA 26A1 and 26A3 will be able to hit the waters on Monday, May 11 at 6 a.m.
The eligible zones for the spring season were split this year due to ice conditions. North shore zones set traps Friday, May 8. Now the rest of the zones on the south side can set Monday.
"DFO is reminding fishermen to take extra care when navigating on opening day of the lobster fishery as vessels are loaded with gear and traps," said a release from the department.
