CEDAR KEY — Everything seemed right with Cedar Key on Wednesday morning.
The sky was a cloudless blue, the water like glass. Dolphins slashed through schools of mullet, and flocks of shorebirds pecked the mud for morsels.
But in the flats just east of town on karst limerock shoals, all is not right.
The oysters are dead — done in by a lethal mixture of high temperatures, too much salt in the water and parasites.
