North Carolina Cooperative Extension and North Carolina Sea Grant along with the N.C. State University Seafood Laboratory announce a Basic Seafood HACCP Workshop to be held in February.
Registration is now under way for the workshop set for Feb. 16-18 at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology in Morehead City. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
The annual workshop is designed for personnel in regulatory agencies, the seafood industry, particularly distributors and processors, and others who are required to have an FDA Seafood HACCP Plan in place for handling fresh seafood and seafood products.
Cost is $150 per person, which includes training, course books and certification fee. Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants will receive from the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) certification of completion.
On the last day of the workshop, Segment II training is offered for those who have completed an online Basic Seafood HACCP training available through Cornell University. Cost is $50 for the online course and $100 for Segment II training in the classroom.
The deadline for registration is Feb. 11.
