BILOXI –The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources said Monday that the red snapper stock shows no signs of being affected by any disease attributed to the 2010 BP oil spill.
This comes after recent reports surfaced in the Orange Beach, Ala,, area that a few of the popular fish had lesions.
The DMR, on the other hand, said any disease found in red snapper cannot be directly associated to the oil spill that shut down the majority of the northern Gulf of Mexico last summer.
