MASON CITY – A Mason City man got a first-hand look at how the fish sold at Hy-Vee East’s new seafood department is caught.
Gary Reynolds of Mason City went out with fishermen from HyVee’s seafood supplier, Incredible Fish, for a day of deep-sea fishing off the coast of Miami.
“What is fresh fish? I actually got to witness and see it first-hand,” said Reynolds, who puts on cooking demonstrations for Hy-Vee in Mason City.
The new department opened Thursday.
Reynolds said the crews fish around old boat wrecks.
