Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board Seeks Director

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board is seeking applications from people interested in its open executive director job.

Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne's office has posted the job description and application instructions on the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism website at: http://bit.ly/1gpKTFj .

Applications will be accepted until Oct. 6. Dardenne will choose the new executive director from a list of nominees submitted by the board.

Ewell Smith resigned from the position shortly after state lawmakers shifted oversight responsibility of the board to the lieutenant governor. The change was designed to strengthen supervision of a 14-member board that has received millions in recovery money from the 2010 Gulf Coast oil spill.
