It's just past noon and all is quiet inside Fishing Jim Seafood, a Raceland crab distribution company.
Six years ago, that would not have been the case. Workers would have been hustling inside the facility at 3534 La. 1 to get any number of orders completed.
"We wouldn't be standing here, I can tell you that. There would be so much action going on here," owner Roger Manning said Thursday. "It has definitely changed."
Manning isn't the only one feeling the effects of a crab shortage.
