Some P.E.I. fishermen are discussing a strike to protest the low price of lobster.
Shawn Ellsworth had his boat out of the water in Howards Cove Friday to repair a problem with the keel. He said the low prices are taking a toll on fishermen like himself.
"At $3.25 a pound, I got to land 15,000 just to break even. It's not looking good this year," he said.
Lobster fishermen currently get $3.25 a pound for canners and $3.50 a pound for the bigger market lobsters.
As recently as this spring, prices were a full dollar higher per pound. That has worried western P.E.I. fishermen, who only catch lobster in the fall.
