June's BC Seafood Festival Expanding To Campbell River

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – As a new addition to the BC Seafood Festival, the Salmon Capital Seafood Taste expands the festivities into Campbell River for the first time. Taking place from 10:30am to 2:00pm on Sunday, June 11th at Spirit Square, this event will feature chef-inspired food stations with creative culinary delights crafted by:

  • Chef Xavier Bauby, International Chef / Culinary Instructor (North Island College) – Coconut Mango Marinated Creative Salmon Organic Chinook Salad in a Filo Cup; Goat Cheese and Herb Stuffed GravlaxLois Lake Steelhead Macaroon; Pink Peppercorn and Herb Chinook Salmon Rillettes Pate with Carrot Lemon Jam
  • Chef Kathryn Guenette, Wild Blueberry Gourmet Eats – Sake Marinated Kyuquot Sound Sablefish over Crispy Rice Crackers
  • Chef Dave Ryan, Culinary Team Canada Champion – Layered Cermaq Atlantic Salmon Cocktail
  • Chef Siddharth Choudhary, Siddhartha’s Indian Kitchen – Barbecue “Indian Style” Marine Harvest Atlantic Salmon with Rice

“There’s no better way to celebrate Seafood Month than joining Campbell River’s aquaculture industry for a taste of B.C.’s fresh farm–raised fish,” said Jeremy Dunn, Executive Director, BC Salmon Farmers Association. “We’ve partnered with local chefs from Vancouver Island, as well as from Metro Vancouver, to create something special for the community.”

While attendees are enjoying the culinary creations by the chefs, they will also be able to appreciate the original soulful and passionate songs by Courtenay’s versatile rhythm and blues musician – Luke Blu Guthrie. 

In order to give back to the community, there will be a minimum donation of $5/person. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation.
