TAMPA, Fla.– The Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition (www.eatgulfseafood.com) and Hannaford Supermarkets will feature fresh, wild-caught shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico and delicious gameday recipes in-stores from Jan. 23 – Jan. 25 to celebrate the Big Game and America's favorite seafood. Hannaford shoppers will enjoy tasting freshly-prepared Gulf Coast BBQ shrimp while learning quick, crowd-pleasing menu ideas for gameday gatherings.
Wild-caught Gulf Coast shrimp, provided by the New Orleans Fish House, will be showcased in 187 Hannaford grocery stores throughout Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont, lending southern Gulf Coast flavors to northern dishes. Shoppers will also notice Gulf Coast shrimp door clings, counter cards, and recipe cards.
"We are delighted to partner with the highly-esteemed Hannaford to provide customers with fresh Gulf Coast shrimp for gameday menus," said Joanne Zaritsky, Marketing Director for the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition. "This partnership helps offer Hannaford shoppers easy entertaining possibilities with the incredible iconic taste that only accompanies seafood harvested straight from the Gulf of Mexico."
Gulf Coast shrimp score big with exceptional fresh flavor that's perfect for the Big Game and can be prepared a variety of ways to win over every fan's tastebuds. Whether it's baked, broiled or blackened shrimp can be complimented with numerous sweet and savory flavors and contribute vitamin-packed lean protein for a healthy diet.
"Simply providing Hannaford shoppers with premium Gulf Coast seafood products for their gameday festivities is a win in the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition's book. We hope fans will enjoy celebrating the Big Game with a mouthwatering Gulf seafood dish by their side," Zaritsky said.
This is the second partnership that the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition has conducted with Hannaford. The Coalition partnered with Hannaford last October for National Seafood Month and offered its customers Emeril's Wild American Shrimp and a recipe for grilled Gulf Coast shrimp with mango salsa. The Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition also had successful partnerships with well-known grocery chains, including: DeMoulas Market Basket, Publix, Roche Brothers, Schnucks, Wegmans and WinCo Foods.
"Partnering with retailers is important to the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition because it provides shoppers the opportunity to experience and learn about an iconic, American brand that New England customers may not be able to enjoy on an ongoing basis," said Joanne Zaritsky. "Our program makes it easy for retailers to offer their customers something new and flavorful."
