Great American Seafood Imports Co. & Frequentz Form Strategic Global Alliance

PALO ALTO, Calif. — Great American Seafood Imports Company, in a strategic move to accelerate its continued growth measures, while building customer trust through supply chain transparency, has entered into a partnership with Frequentz Inc.  As a global leader and champion of end-to-end supply chain visibility, Frequentz's robust track and trace system will provide Great American Seafood Imports Company improved technical ability to combat the effects of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, and associate third party certification as well as fair labor recording. This is an industry first with a fully integrated supply chain visibility solution from source to consumer.

"We chose to align ourselves with Frequentz for many reasons," said Sam Galletti, President, Great American Seafood Imports Company. "As the industry continues to adapt to the ever-changing global demands of our customers and consumers, Frequentz's product tracking software will provide us with the necessary insights that are essential."

Frequentz's system is adaptable for any company, regardless of size or standards deployed, and is not solely reliant upon GS1 standardization.  This will simplify international seafood traceability and compliance moving forward. Great American Seafood and Frequentz have begun deploying a three-stage traceability rollout in Southeast Asia to include suppliers in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India and China.  The first phase of the project will focus upon tracing product from the source and associating it back to socially responsible practices.

"Frequentz has developed a platform for product traceability that provides transparency to the seafood supply chain that will generate significant data sets, including social responsibility, sustainability, quality controls and third party certification on the production of fisheries," said Frankie Terzoli, Vice President, Global Sales, Frequentz Inc. "With the addition of Frequentz's reporting system to Great American Seafood's vendor requirements, traceability will take its next step forward in protecting the consumer and the environment."
