Many experts, including the American Heart Association, recommend consuming at least two servings of seafood a week. We hope that by launching the Grilled Recipe Renovation Contest we will inspire consumers to try new delicious and healthy ways to add more seafood to their diets in the New Year.
Gortons Grilled Recipe Renovation Contest challenges consumers to add more omega-3 containing seafood in their diets by using Gortons Grilled Seafood to renovate a recipe or to create a new dish that is nutritious, lower in calories and fat and a fresh departure from the same old menu plan. Gortons invites consumers to enter the Grilled Recipe Renovation Contest from January 4 February 23, 2010. The contest requires an original recipe using one of Gortons Grilled Seafood products Gortons Grilled Tilapia, Gortons Grilled Shrimp, Gortons Grilled Salmon, or Gortons All Natural Grilled Fillets; an original photograph of the recipe renovation process preparing, cooking, serving, eating or enjoying; and a 50-word recipe renovation tip using seafood.
Thirty-one (31) finalists will be selected, according to set criteria, each guaranteed to win a prize. The grand prize is a $5,000 gift certificate to a major home furnishing retailer, a year of free Gortons Seafood each month (12 free Gortons product coupons) and the winning recipe professionally photographed and posted on the Gortons website. Ten (10) first prizes will include a year of free Gortons Seafood each month (12 free Gortons product coupons), recipe professionally photographed and posted on the Gortons website; twenty (20) second prizes include a year of free Gortons Seafood each month (12 free Gortons product coupons).
In addition to the judged prizes, Gortons is awarding three (3) Voters Choice Prizes from the thirty-one (31) Finalists. Consumers will have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite Renovated Recipe from March 15 April 30, 2010. The top vote getter will receive a $2,500 Gift Certificate to a leading home furnishings retailer; the second highest vote getter will receive a $1,500 Gift Certificate to a leading home furnishings retailer; and the third highest vote getter – $1,000 Gift Certificate to a leading home furnishings retailer.
