SANTA CRUZ — At noon on Saturday, Christian Zajac was one of the only fisherman at the Santa Cruz Harbor to come back with Dungeness crabs to sell.
Strong winds and large swells made for a tough day to set out pots — the cages used to capture the crabs — or check them.
"It's been horrible out there," Zajac said. "It's hard to get your pots where you want to put them."
Saturday marked the second day of Dungeness crab season for Bay Area fishermen and the weather was difficult from the outset.
