Portland, Maine – Ray Swenton, Chairman and CEO of Bristol Seafood, announced today the company’s plan to invest over $1M in physical plant upgrades at their Portland Fish Pier facility over the next 30 months.
Bristol Seafood has been operating on the Portland Fish Pier since 1992.The facility was expanded in the year 2000 to a 30,000 – square foot building which includes production facilities, cold storage, and administrative offices.
Mr. Swenton indicated that the new capital improvements will be focused on a modernization of the production area including streamlining production flow, upgrading of defrosting and grading systems, and an investment in green technology such as improved fresh water conservation through state of the art recycling.
“This is our investment in the future of our business, our community, and the planet”, Mr. Swenton said. “These new improvements and processing technologies will provide a better product to our customers and are in keeping with our commitment to responsible sourcing and quality assured production practices.”
Mr. Swenton also noted the company’s preference to purchase any new technology from American companies. Over the next few months he will be taking time away from daily business to travel and pursue the design process for this modernization.
Bristol Seafood is a Portland, Maine based seafood processor and distributor. The company employs seventy-five full time employees.
