HAMPTON, VA — Oil from the the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill isn't anywhere near Hampton Roads, but some people here are feeling the impact.
Seafood company L.D. Amory ships oysters across the country, but without Gulf oysters, business is down 30-percent, says Meade Amory.
"We've been managing to keep our heads above water and with this its becoming difficult," he says.
Amory filed a claim against BP to cover the losses he's already incurred and those that could be ahead.
He says he's concerned about what's coming when peak oyster season hits this fall.
