Wednesday, July 15, will go down as a bell weather day for Grays Aqua Group and the Coast of Bays aquaculture industry.
That’s the day the company started what is anticipated to be its single largest harvest in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
This year's harvest will commence with more than two million kilograms of Atlantic salmon from their Indian Tea Point farm site in Facheau Bay to be processed at their plant in Hermitage, a press release from the Newfoundland and Labrador Aquaculture Association (NAIA) said.
“This particular harvest is their first in this province since 2013,” the release added. “Gray Aqua Group currently employs more than 60 people from the Coast of Bays region in their production and processing operations.”
