RADNOR, PA, Jun 17, 2010 — Airgas, Inc., the largest U.S. distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases, announced that it has developed a new line of cryogenic freezers for use in food processing facilities. The Airgas FreezeRight(TM) line of cryogenic freezers combines the company's bulk gas expertise with the company's experience in cryogenic equipment technologies and its industry knowledge of food processes and products. The end-result is a full line of standard and custom freezers designed to provide cost-effective freezing and cooling solutions specific to the needs and demands of food processing facilities.
The FreezeRight line uses liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide to flash freeze food items such as chicken, seafood, vegetables and pastries. The top-lifting cryogenic tunnel freezers debuted at the International Poultry Expo in Atlanta, GA and the International Seafood Show in Boston, MA earlier this year.
"Our customers require safe, efficient, and product-specific solutions as they work to expand and improve upon their product offering and meet consumer demands," said Greg Caniglia, applications manager at Airgas Merchant Gases. "FreezeRight goes well beyond standard cryogenic equipment in that it offers freezing and cooling solutions specific to our customer's needs while using a common modular platform to provide higher efficiencies, easier cleaning and a smaller footprint."
FreezeRight was developed to compliment Airgas' complete systems approach to the food-freezing process. In order to provide the ultimate food freezing system, the Airgas systems approach takes into account the entire cryogenic freezing process, including the tank, piping, exhaust and Airgas FreezeRight freezer.
