ST. FRANCIS, Wis. – Wixon, a manufacturer of seasonings, flavors, and technologies for the food and beverage industry, will showcase its latest “healthier, tastier, just better” innovative food concepts and proprietary technologies at numerous Sectional IFT events throughout the year. The menu’s theme will feature flavor modifiers that enhance nutritional products by reducing sugar, masking off-notes, and neutralizing vitamin bitterness.
The concepts include:
• Peach Boba Vitamin Shot – This is a sparkling sip of coconut water, natural peach flavor, and stevia. Three grams of added fiber make it a “good source.” Added vitamins provide 50 percent of the U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowances (USRDA), including vitamins B1, B2, B5, B6, B12, niacin, biotin, and folic acid. Wixon’s Mag-nifique for Stevia reduces the lingering aftertaste of stevia, while Mag-nifique Vita-Minimizer neutralizes vitamin off-notes.
• Protein Bar Made with Cricket Flour – A “better for you” and better-tasting protein bar, with a balanced combination of peanut butter, pumpkin and chia seeds, chocolate chips, and cherries – plus cricket flour. Consumers can feel full with ten grams of protein and five grams in dietary fiber. The bar features Mag-nifique Astringency Away to reduce the perception of astringency, and Mag-nifique Sweet Lift reduces sugar while enhancing sweetness.
• Vegetarian Fiesta Meatball with an Antioxidant Chocolate Mole Sauce – A sweetly spicy bite of soy protein, oats, cumin, garlic, onion, chili peppers, and smoked paprika, baked and dipped in dark chocolate. Ten percent protein and beta-carotene make the meatball a “good source,” and six percent fiber makes it filling. The dark chocolate contains antioxidants, while Mag-nifique Bitterless minimizes the impact of that flavor. Mag-nifique Pro-No is also incorporated to reduce the impact of the soy protein taste.
• Protein & Fiber Rooibos Fitness Tea – A South African plant high in minerals and flavonoids, rooibos blends with stevia and added fiber and protein for a tangy fitness beverage. Six grams of fiber make it an “excellent source,” and six grams of protein make it a “good source.” This healthy beverage contains 50 percent reduced sugar, aided by Mag-nifique Sweet Lift. Mag-nifique for Stevia helps make it taste great.
Wixon will be exhibiting these “better for you” concepts for nutritional products at:
