Winn Dixie Hopes Renovations Will Bring Back Customers

ORLANDO, Fla. — Most people have a favorite grocery store, but Winn Dixie is hoping to draw more people away from Publix and Super Walmart and back into its stores.

The Florida-based grocery store chain is spending tens of millions of dollars to change its image.

Store director Tom Seay is in charge of the transformation at the Apopka Winn Dixie.

"They're looking for fresh. They're looking for clean. They're looking for someone that will engage them and talk to them and listen to what they want, what their needs are," Seay said.

Winn Dixie has been lagging behind Publix and Super Walmart in sales and preference.
