Grocery shopping is a big business in central Pennsylvania.
Total sales topped $3.52 billion in one year, according to Food World, a trade publication that tracks the grocery industry.
The publication called it a quiet year in central Pa., with exception to Lancaster County. In the past year the county welcomed Whole Foods and Wegmans and also saw the closure of two family-operated stores, Darrenkamp’s and Ferguson & Hassler.
