Spartan Puts Spotlight On Michigan Products

BYRON TOWNSHIP — Those little blue signs sold lots of gladiolas last summer.

"It triples or quadruples the amount you can move," said Tony Lasky, co-owner of Great Lakes Glads, a Bronson-based flower grower.

His flowers were part of Spartan Stores' "Michigan's Best" that highlighted, with the blue signs, products grown or made in Michigan or produced by Michigan companies.

They range from Kellogg's Raisin Bran cooked up in Battle Creek to Koeze peanut butter whipped up in Wyoming.
