SONOMA, Calif. – The newly relocated and renovated Epicurean Connection Shop celebrated its grand opening on Oct. 15, with a new Cheese, Wine & Beer Bar, designed to compliment local and artisan food products.
Shop owner and founder Sheana Davis, an award-winning cheesemaker and chef, greeted the community at the new store at 122 West Napa St. in Sonoma with opening day activities, including a raffle to benefit local charities. Prizes include two lots of 52 bottles of wine.
Guests were invited to browse the newly-relocated shop’s selection of American artisan cheeses, brews, wines, artisan food items, and cheesemaking supplies, as well as enjoy unique art pieces. The shop will also feature a “butter bar” with cow, goat, sweet unsalted and salted butters from creameries around the nation.
Also lining the shelves will be olive oils, sea salts, jams, chocolate sauces and honey. The focus on local and tasty continues with take-out delicacies such as fresh Delice de la Vallee Raviolis made by The Pasta Shop, chef made pesto, raspberry rose petal jam, alfredo sauce, aioli and seasonal tapenades and sauces.
The celebration continues after the Oct. 15 Opening Day with special events, including Saturday morning bacon maple waffles and Taylor Maid Farms coffee and tea. The First Thursday of each month is Non Profit Night, with 10 percent of all shop sales benefiting local non-profits.
“Moving to a larger shop location allows us to emphasize the strong relationships we’ve cultivated with local producers by carrying more of their products in our store,” Davis said. “I am very excited about our new and expanded space, and look forward to welcoming the community into the new Epicurean Connection.”
The Epicurean Connection Shop, Cheese, Wine & Beer Bar is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.theepicureanconnection.com or contact Davis at 707-935-7960, or email sheana@vom.com.
