Rainbow Blossom Natural Food Markets was named the 2014 Retailer of the Year in the sustainability category at this year's Natural Products Expo Eas t in Baltimore.
The Louisville-based grocery store chain took home the top award for sustainability and also was nominated in the innovation category. The other categories were community and best new store.
Founded in 1977, Rainbow Blossom has five locations across the Louisville area. The majority of the food it sells are grown without the use of artificial pesticides or fertilizers, and 70 percent of its food is local.
