Pate Dawson Company Facility To Bring 49 Jobs To Statesville, NC

One new business, 49 new jobs and a $9 million investment in the city of Statesville were officially announced by N.C. Department of Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco on Wednesday for the settling of a new distribution facility for Goldsboro-based foodservice distributor Pate Dawson Company (PDC).

The distribution facility will be constructed in an existing 63,000-square-foot building at 195 Business Park Drive. Another 40,000 square feet of cooler and freezer space will be added in coming months.

PDC Chairman and CEO Mac Sullivan said he hopes the center will be up and running by mid-summer. The new jobs will be largely in the fields of warehousing and truck driving. Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage is $47,531 plus benefits. The average salary of Iredell County residents is $36,348.

Statesville Mayor Costi Kutteh said the city improved its character with the addition of the fifth-generation, family owned PDC. Kutteh said he also knew it must be a happy day for The Keith Corporation, the Charlotte-based real estate firm that took a risk building the structure a couple years ago with no buyer.
