Speaking at the 2013 CEO Summit at the Wetin Book Cadillac, Meijer noted that the 190,000-square-foot supercenter at Woodward Avenue and 8 Mile opened just as the city was filing for bankruptcy last July.
“With the opening of the store there was a sense for many of us that the city was turning the page,” he said.
