McDonald’s Adds Brats To More Wisconsin Menus This Fall

Wisconsin is known for many things – great people, gorgeous lakes, cheese, Packers, and the game-day staple brats. After becoming a fan favorite during a run in spring of 2016 in SE Wisconsin, McDonald’s is again partnering with the expert in bratwurst. For a limited time only, McDonald’s is adding Johnsonville brats to more McDonald’s restaurant menus throughout Wisconsin and Michigan during the November and December months.

“We really loved the idea of serving a menu item that our customers can get exclusively in this part of the country,” said Dennis Thiel, owner of several McDonald’s restaurants in Wisconsin. “Customers loved them in the spring, and we couldn’t pass up the chance to serve brats during the fall weather – and the football season.”

To create a true experience of “eating like a local,” McDonald’s joined forces with the Green Bay Packers. Reintroducing Johnsonville brats to the McDonald’s menu coincides perfectly with the height of football season. Combining a favorite Wisconsinite food with Wisconsin’s favorite team is a perfect match. Now, customers can enjoy Johnsonville tailgate flavor from their nearest McDonald’s drive-thru.

“We are thrilled to once again be a part of a Wisconsin food story by returning our namesake product to McDonald’s stores here in the state,” said Sarah Babb, marketing manager for Johnsonville’s Foodservice business. “It was fun to see what a large hit the Johnsonville Brat was with McDonald’s customers earlier this spring, and we intend to deliver again in terms of taste and value for them.”

The Johnsonville brats will be served in traditional style –- on a brat bun with ketchup and mustard and will be featured as part of the 2 for $5 lineup for a limited time beginning on November 7.

“We’re always looking for ways to expand our commitment to the state and to our fellow Wisconsin-based companies, so we’re really proud to serve Johnsonville brats in our restaurants. We can’t wait for what’s next,” said Thiel.
